Binance Expands DYOR With New On-Chain Metrics for Alpha Tokens

Binance Adds More Data to Its DYOR Research Hub

Binance has expanded DYOR, its research hub for Binance Alpha tokens, with a wider range of on-chain, market and project-level data.

The update is designed to give users more information about Alpha tokens from a single interface rather than requiring them to move between multiple analytics platforms. Binance originally introduced DYOR to consolidate research data around Alpha tokens, including market information, trading metrics, token unlocks and project fundamentals.

The latest version adds deeper information on token ownership, decentralized-exchange liquidity, centralized-exchange wallet movements, project activity and derivatives markets.

New Holder Data Gives Users a Closer Look at Token Ownership

One of the biggest additions is a Top Holders section that provides more visibility into how token ownership is distributed.

Users can see entity-labeled wallets, including addresses associated with exchanges and decentralized exchanges. The feature also allows users to examine concentration among major holders and move directly to on-chain explorers for additional verification.

This can help users understand whether a token's supply is broadly distributed or concentrated among a relatively small number of large wallets. Binance presents the information as research data rather than a trading recommendation.

DEX Liquidity and Exchange Wallet Activity Come Into Focus

DYOR now also provides more detailed information about liquidity on decentralized exchanges.

Users can compare liquidity across supported blockchains and monitor hourly and daily changes. Historical liquidity drawdowns can also provide additional context when assessing how easily a token can be traded on decentralized markets.

Another addition is CEX Wallet Sweep Movements. The feature tracks large token transfers from on-chain deposit addresses into centralized exchange wallets.

Users can inspect large exchange deposits, trace the source addresses and follow transactions through blockchain explorers. This gives researchers another way to monitor significant on-chain movements involving Alpha tokens.

Project Fundamentals Are Now Part of the Research View

Binance has also expanded the fundamental information available through DYOR.

The platform now provides team information, links to official X and LinkedIn profiles and project performance metrics such as total value locked, fees and revenue.

This expands DYOR beyond price and trading data. Users can combine information about a project's team and public activity with measurable indicators of its protocol usage.

Binance Alpha itself focuses on early-stage crypto projects, and Binance says tokens featured on Alpha are not guaranteed to receive a future Binance Exchange listing.

Open Interest and Funding Rates Add Derivatives Data

The updated DYOR interface also brings Binance open-interest and funding-rate information into the research process.

Users can monitor open interest to see how much capital is represented in outstanding derivatives positions, while funding rates can provide additional context about positioning in perpetual futures markets.

Combining these metrics with spot-market information gives users a broader view of trading activity around an Alpha token.

This is particularly useful because price movements alone may not show how traders are positioned in the derivatives market.

DYOR Pulls Data From Multiple Sources

Binance says DYOR aggregates publicly available information from several data providers and platforms.

The sources named in the announcement include Arkham, CoinMarketCap, DeFiLlama, RootData, X, GitHub and Binance's own public data.

Bringing these sources together is intended to reduce the need for users to switch between separate analytics platforms when researching an Alpha token.

The approach also fits with Binance's broader effort to make information surrounding Alpha projects more transparent. Binance has previously used quantitative metrics such as liquidity depth, trading activity and holder distribution when reviewing Alpha tokens.

How to Access Binance DYOR

DYOR is available for supported Binance Alpha tokens through the Binance app.

Users can access the feature by:

  1. Opening the Binance App and enabling the Exchange toggle.

  2. Going to the Spot Trading page for a supported Alpha token.

  3. Selecting the DYOR tab.

Binance says coverage will gradually expand to additional tokens.

The company also emphasizes that the information is provided for informational purposes and should not be interpreted as financial or investment advice. The data is presented on an "as is" basis, and users remain responsible for conducting their own research.

Why the Update Matters for Alpha Token Traders

The latest DYOR expansion makes Binance's Alpha research experience considerably more comprehensive.

Instead of focusing mainly on token discovery, the platform now combines holder distribution, liquidity conditions, exchange wallet movements, project fundamentals and derivatives data in one place.

That could make DYOR more useful for users evaluating early-stage tokens, particularly because Binance Alpha covers projects that can carry higher volatility and risk. Binance has previously described Alpha as a platform for discovering emerging projects rather than a guarantee of future exchange listings.

For Binance, the update also strengthens Alpha's position as a research and discovery layer within its broader crypto ecosystem.

The important distinction is that more data does not automatically make an Alpha token safer or more valuable. DYOR gives users additional information to investigate a project, but the interpretation of that information remains with the user.

With the latest additions, Binance is effectively turning DYOR into a more complete research dashboard for Alpha tokens, combining on-chain activity, market liquidity, project fundamentals and derivatives data in one interface.
