Binance broadens Capital Connect investor access
Binance is expanding eligibility for its Capital Connect marketplace, allowing KYC-verified individual investors at VIP Level 3 or above to participate.
The exchange announced that the updated eligibility rules took effect on September 14, 2026. Previously, access as an investor was limited to users who completed KYB verification and met the required financial qualification thresholds.
Capital Connect is Binance's exchange-native strategy marketplace. It connects qualified investors with professional trading teams and provides access to portfolios using verified performance information and direct allocation mechanisms.
The latest change expands the pool of potentially eligible investors while keeping financial qualification requirements in place.
Who can access Binance Capital Connect?
Under the updated rules, investors must satisfy two separate requirements: an accepted form of identity or business verification and at least one financial qualification.
For verification, an investor must have either a KYB-verified or KYC-verified Binance account. Binance provides information about the two verification processes through its official guides, including its KYB verification guide and KYC verification guide.
The financial qualification can be satisfied in one of three ways:
Holding Binance VIP Level 3 or higher
Having total assets on Binance worth at least $1 million equivalent
Providing external proof of assets equivalent to $1 million for review
This means reaching VIP Level 3 is not the only route to qualification. Users who meet the asset threshold through their Binance holdings or provide qualifying external asset documentation can also satisfy the financial requirement, subject to Binance's review and applicable eligibility rules.
What is Binance Capital Connect?
Capital Connect is designed as a marketplace connecting investors with professional trading teams.
Rather than requiring investors to independently identify and evaluate every trading strategy, the platform provides marketplace access to portfolios and strategy information. Binance describes the service as connecting qualified investors with professional trading teams through verified performance data and direct allocation.
Binance has previously described Capital Connect as a portfolio marketplace for institutional investors and trading teams. Its earlier announcement, “Binance Evolves Capital Connect”, provides additional background on the platform's development.
The expansion therefore changes who can qualify as an investor, rather than changing the fundamental purpose of Capital Connect.
Investors can view EIO portfolios
Eligible investors can access the Capital Connect marketplace directly through Binance and view available portfolios, including Express Interest Only (EIO) portfolios.

For investors, this provides another way to explore strategies available through the marketplace before proceeding with an allocation, subject to the applicable product terms and onboarding requirements.

VIP Level 3 becomes another access route
The most significant change in the latest announcement is the addition of KYC-verified VIP Level 3+ individual investors.
Previously, users seeking investor access needed to be KYB-verified while meeting similar financial requirements. The new structure allows qualifying individuals to enter through KYC verification, provided they also satisfy the financial criteria.
Binance's VIP program offers different benefits depending on a user's level. These can include lower trading fees, higher limits and priority support, although specific benefits and eligibility requirements can vary.

What investors should know before using Capital Connect
The expanded eligibility does not mean that every KYC-verified Binance user can automatically access Capital Connect.
An investor still needs to meet one of the specified financial qualifications. For users who do not have VIP Level 3 status, the alternative is to meet the $1 million Binance asset threshold or submit equivalent external asset documentation for review.
Binance also notes that Capital Connect products and services may not be available in every region. Product terms, onboarding requirements and other restrictions can therefore vary depending on the user's location and account status.

Binance continues building its professional trading infrastructure
The Capital Connect expansion follows Binance's broader development of infrastructure aimed at professional trading teams and investors.

The latest Capital Connect update adds another layer to that infrastructure by widening the group of investors who can potentially access the marketplace.
For Binance, the change brings more KYC-verified individual users into a platform previously focused on KYB-verified participants, while retaining financial qualification requirements.
