Binance, RedotPay Clash Over Singapore Lawsuit

Binance and RedotPay are offering conflicting accounts of a Singapore legal proceeding connected to their broader $472.8 million dispute, with RedotPay expecting the case to be discontinued while Binance says its claims remain active.

A legal dispute between Binance-affiliated companies and crypto payments firm RedotPay has escalated after the two sides disagreed over the status of related proceedings in Singapore.

RedotPay said it expects the Singapore matter to be discontinued following an Aug. 7 hearing and plans to seek legal costs associated with the proceedings.

Binance, however, has rejected reports that it is abandoning its Singapore claims. The company said it has informed both the court and RedotPay that its claims remain active.

The disagreement is part of a larger legal battle involving Binance-linked entities and RedotPay, including a separate Hong Kong case in which plaintiffs are seeking approximately $472.8 million in damages.

Binance Rejects Reports It Is Dropping Singapore Claims

The latest disagreement centers on what happened following the Aug. 7 Singapore hearing.

RedotPay said it expects Binance to discontinue the Singapore proceedings and indicated that it would seek recovery of legal costs.

Binance has disputed that interpretation.

The exchange said reports suggesting it was withdrawing its Singapore claims were false and that it had made its position clear to both RedotPay and the court.

The conflicting statements mean the procedural status of the Singapore case remains an important point to watch as further court filings emerge.

Singapore Case Is Linked to Wider $472.8 Million Dispute

The Singapore proceedings are connected to a broader legal dispute involving Binance-affiliated companies and RedotPay.

Three Binance-linked entities — Nest Trading, DistributedTechnologies and Chaintecs Consulting Singapore — are involved in legal action against RedotPay-related parties.

The broader Hong Kong dispute centers on allegations that RedotPay breached commercial arrangements by allowing Binance Pay funds to be used for RedotPay card top-ups outside the agreed terms.

The plaintiffs have alleged that more than 470,000 Binance Card users were diverted to RedotPay's competing card service.

Based on an estimated lifetime customer value of $925 per user, the plaintiffs have calculated damages of approximately $472.8 million.

Those allegations remain disputed and have not been established as facts by a final court judgment.

RedotPay Disputes Binance's Allegations

RedotPay has rejected the allegations and said it intends to defend itself through the legal process.

The dispute focuses in part on how Binance Pay funds were used within RedotPay's ecosystem and whether those activities were permitted under the companies' commercial arrangements.

The case highlights the increasingly complicated relationships developing between cryptocurrency exchanges, payment platforms and stablecoin-based card providers.

As these companies compete for users and transaction flows, partnership agreements can involve customer acquisition, payment processing, digital assets and card services across multiple jurisdictions.

Binance and RedotPay Previously Worked Together

The current legal dispute follows a commercial relationship between Binance Pay and RedotPay.

In December 2023, RedotPay announced that it had partnered with Binance Pay to allow Binance users to make direct deposits to RedotPay cards through an integration inside the Binance app. RedotPay's announcement of the Binance Pay partnership

The relationship later ended, with Binance discontinuing support for the RedotPay integration in April 2026.

The subsequent legal dispute has raised questions over the terms governing the partnership and how Binance Pay funds could be used within the RedotPay ecosystem.

Why the Case Matters for Crypto Payments

The Binance-RedotPay dispute goes beyond a disagreement between two crypto companies.

Both businesses operate at the intersection of cryptocurrency, stablecoins and payments, an area that has expanded rapidly as digital assets become more integrated with everyday financial services.

Crypto card providers depend on access to users, payment networks and digital-asset liquidity. Exchanges, meanwhile, increasingly operate their own payment infrastructure and partnerships.

The dispute demonstrates how commercial relationships between these businesses can become strategically important.

It also highlights the legal complexity of agreements involving digital assets, payment services and users across different markets.

The Singapore Proceedings Remain a Key Point to Watch

The immediate question is whether the Singapore proceedings will formally end or whether Binance will continue pursuing claims in the jurisdiction.

RedotPay's expectation that the case will be discontinued conflicts directly with Binance's statement that it is not abandoning its claims.

Further court filings should provide greater clarity over the status of the proceedings.

The Singapore case should also be viewed separately from the broader Hong Kong dispute. Even if the Singapore proceedings are discontinued, the wider legal battle over the alleged diversion of Binance users and the claimed $472.8 million in damages could continue.

Binance-RedotPay Dispute Continues

The latest developments have left Binance and RedotPay presenting different versions of the Singapore case's status.

RedotPay expects the proceedings to be discontinued and says it will seek legal costs, while Binance maintains that it has not withdrawn its claims.

The disagreement comes amid a broader $472.8 million legal dispute involving allegations over Binance Card users, Binance Pay funds and RedotPay's card business.

For now, neither side's allegations should be treated as a final legal finding.

The next court filings and procedural developments will determine whether the Singapore proceedings actually come to an end and how the broader dispute between Binance-affiliated companies and RedotPay develops.
