Binance Expands bStocks as Margin Collateral

Binance has expanded its bStocks lineup by adding four equity-linked tokens as collateral for leveraged trading. The exchange made JPMB, LLYB, SECZB and USDEB available for eligible users across Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro starting at 8 a.m. ET on Oct. 7.

The four tokens are linked to exposure involving JPMorgan Chase, Eli Lilly, Securitize and StablecoinX. Traders can use the bStocks as collateral to support their margin positions, although the tokens themselves cannot be borrowed through Binance's margin products.

The move comes alongside spot trading support against USDT for all four assets. Binance's bStocks margin announcement and its spot listing announcement also establish the trading and collateral details for the newly supported tokens.

Four Tokens Receive 50% Collateral Ratios

For standard Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin accounts, Binance assigns all four bStocks a 50% collateral ratio. This means only half of the index-based value of the tokens is credited as collateral under the applicable margin rules.

In Cross Margin, the 50% ratio applies to borrowing and transfers out rather than determining liquidation valuation. The structure allows eligible users to use tokenized equity exposure as part of their collateral while maintaining Binance's existing margin controls.

Portfolio Margin Pro uses a different tiered system. The applicable collateral ratio declines as the value of the position increases, creating different collateral requirements across five value brackets.

The tiered schedule applies to JPMB, LLYB, SECZB and USDEB and is based on Binance's published parameters as of Oct. 7, 2026. Users can also be affected by individual token collateral limits, which can restrict additional transfers or purchases into margin accounts once available capacity is reached. bStocks Trading and Stock Conversion

The latest additions build on Binance's bStocks program, which launched in June with support for round-the-clock tokenized equity trading and conversion between eligible stocks and their corresponding bStocks.

Holders of the underlying stocks can convert them into the corresponding bStocks at a 1:1 ratio without conversion fees. The tokenized assets provide exposure to movements in the associated equity prices but do not represent direct ownership of the underlying companies or provide shareholder rights.

The bStocks program therefore combines tokenized trading with Binance's existing exchange and margin infrastructure. The latest collateral expansion gives eligible traders another way to incorporate the assets into leveraged trading strategies.

Access remains limited to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions. U.S. persons and users located in the United States are excluded from the service.

Regular users and VIP 1–2 customers must also complete a suitability questionnaire before accessing the relevant bStocks products. Lower-tier accounts can face additional restrictions when bStocks concentration or exposure to less-liquid crypto assets exceeds Binance's specified risk thresholds. Binance's bStocks collateral FAQ

How Binance Values bStocks Collateral

Binance's collateral calculations rely on an index that incorporates real-time U.S. equity prices from external data providers together with Binance futures-market prices during available trading sessions. The methodology covers pre-market and after-hours periods, while the underlying constituents and their weights can vary between individual bStocks.

This creates an important distinction between the trading of the token and the pricing used to determine its collateral value. bStocks can continue trading around the clock, but their collateral index depends on the availability of the underlying U.S. equity market data.

When external market data is unavailable during weekends, holidays or maintenance periods, the collateral index remains at the last valid price recorded during the most recent U.S. equity trading session. The value stays fixed until the relevant market data becomes available again. Binance's bStocks pricing methodology

Liquidation Risk Remains During Market Gaps

Using bStocks as collateral does not remove the risk of forced liquidation. If an account's margin level falls below Binance's liquidation threshold, positions can be forcibly closed under the platform's risk controls.

Binance's liquidation framework prioritizes more liquid assets and applies discounts to index-based asset values. Its risk parameters also specify separate risk-based liquidation ratios ranging from 5% to 20%, depending on the applicable tier for the four newly supported tokens. Binance's risk-based liquidation framework

The risk becomes particularly relevant when U.S. equity markets reopen after a weekend, holiday or other period when the collateral index has remained fixed. A significant move in the underlying equity price can change the value of the bStocks collateral once updated market data becomes available.

A decline in collateral value can lower an account's margin level or unified maintenance margin ratio and move the position closer to liquidation. Binance's published collateral limits can also restrict how much of an individual bStocks token can be transferred or added to margin accounts.

Binance Pushes Tokenized Equities Deeper Into Margin Trading

The addition of JPMB, LLYB, SECZB and USDEB expands the role of Binance's tokenized equity products beyond spot trading. Eligible users can now use the four assets as collateral across multiple margin frameworks while also trading them against USDT.

The structure comes with different collateral requirements depending on the account type and position size. Standard Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin accounts use a 50% ratio, while Portfolio Margin Pro applies rates ranging from 100% for the first $200,000 to 20% for amounts above $1 million.

For traders using the products, the key considerations remain eligibility, collateral limits, market-data availability and liquidation risk. The latest expansion gives bStocks a larger role within Binance's trading infrastructure while maintaining restrictions designed around the risks of tokenized equity and leveraged positions.
